Nancy's Story - "She has completely changed my life ...I keep going back"

I never believed in a trainer. The ones I saw when I was at the gym were men, who looked like they were “on” something…and the women trainers didn’t make much of an impression on me either. I always worked out on my own in order to get fit, but stopped whenever I felt alittle muscle burn or sweat. In order to lose the weight I put on, I played tennis and took step classes, which help tremendously but there was something off.

Fast forward to 2009. I moved to NJ and immediately joined a gym.  I did slim down, but again there was something that was off. I couldn’t put my finger on it.

In 2012, a friend of mine talked non-stop about her trainer. She mentioned how her trainer had her doing the most insane workout routines! Not only was this trainer insane, but my friend kept going back to this trainer.  Who loves this type of crazy? My friend sure did. Being that I wasn’t getting the results I wanted, I decided to give this trainer a try.  Her name is Karen Dennis.

Karen Dennis helped me figure out what was off…what I couldn’t put my finger on before.  She not only taught me how to do a proper and effective workout, but also taught me that proper nutrition was KEY to a healthier lifestyle.  You CANNOT out train a bad diet. She connected the dots!!!

I am now in the best shape inside and out, than I’ve ever been! Fitness has now become a part of my lifestyle. I cannot go a day without it. As a chef, I emphasize and influence healthier eating and exercise to everyone around me. I’ve gone from a size 6 to a size 2 by drinking my water, eating leaner cuts of meat, a lot more veggies and by adding whole grain. Fast food is out of my life, sugar is barely existent and dairy I do without.

As Karen gives you the most intense work outs, she also feeds you mentally and spiritually every day. As a God fearing wife, mother of 5 and grandmother of 2….she reminds you that there are no excuses. HYDRATE and MOVE!

Fitness and nutrition is now my life. As she feeds me, I want to feed those around me. As she moves forward, she makes me want to keep moving forward. She believes the sky is the limit when you have the faith and the desire to keep going. She has completely changed my life…..and now….. I keep going back.

Pamela Mitchell's Success Story

I started training with Karen Dennis about 3 years ago.

I've always worked out and been physically active. I've done a little of everything; hot yoga, kickboxing and running for several years.

Weight loss hasn't been my goal or issue but building muscle and toning is what I needed. People have the misconception that 'skinny" people don't need to work out. I'm petite with an athletic build and before I started training with Karen I was 'skinny fat' wearing between a size 2-4 in my jeans. And my problem area was abs still is my mid-section.

Since training with Karen I've built more muscle mass and lost a few inches off my waist. I started out with a 27/28 inch waist and now I'm down to 26 sometimes 25.

Karen helps you achieve your fitness goals. She does this with not only a great physical workout program but also the other important part of training - nutrition and the food you're eating.

Karen leads by example and gently but firmly pushes you to work harder. 'I can't' is forbidden in her gym. And I can now lift, push, pull and do all sorts of things that I never imagined before joining the 5am team! And that 5am group is filled with people who support and push one another for that one-hour and beyond! It's awesome and we're a family. How many gyms can you say you've joined and felt connected to the person thats leading the class or the people in the class?
